Do you avoid lifting weights because you are afraid of getting 'too bulky'?
-Trust me, this won't happen!
Why you won’t get bulky:
We don't have the testosterone levels that men have to get bulky. If you see a woman with a masculine & muscular physique she is probably supplementing with hormones. Some women can build muscle faster than others due to genetics but unless you're trying to get bulky, you will not.
I know from experience, gaining muscle is hard! I use weights everyday, and I don't mean 3lbs!
The best way to avoid feeling 'bulky' from weights is by using as many compound, combination, and full body movements with your weights as possible. This will keep you from isolating muscles to increase their size, instead increasing lean muscle and decreasing fat at the same time.Right now I don't want fat loss and would like to be a bit bigger so, i'm isolating 2 different muscle groups a day. I'll rotate light intensity cardio or abs every other day after each weighted workout. Even doing this, I'm not bulky at all. But I am strong and I have a feminine & Natural fitsique!
Diet is most important. If you're not eating healthy, doing your research and forming a diet to reach your goals you won't see results anytime soon. It's time to cut out the bad, and bring in the good.
Don't be afraid of the iron... Being strong gives you confidence, self-esteem, and a hot bod!

Thanks Haley. I started doing Crossfit to help cross train as I train for a marathon. I gained a little weight (obviously from muscle) and started getting scared that I would get bulky and lose my feminine physique. This helps. What are your thoughts on crossfit?
ReplyDeleteyou certainly do have a strong feminine physique! i totally agree with you, it takes hard work and the right diet for women to get bulky...heck the same thing can be said for men as well.
ReplyDeleteall i can say right now, is keep doing what you're doing, cuz you look fantastic.
I love lifting weights!
ReplyDeleteAnd I love that you have a blog now. I like your facebook page but a blog is great too. You could post a few recipes, that would be awesome :-)
